2ANNAS has successfully started organizing movie premieres in Latvia with the premiere of an animated film The Kiosk by Anete Melece and a campaign dedicated to its promotion. For the first time in the festival program a special section titled Premieres has appeared. This year it includes a Baltic premiere of a full-length documentary film Flowers from the Mount of Olives by Heilika Pikkov and a national premiere of a short film Projām (Away) by Ieva Norvele.

Right alongside Jerusalem, in a Russian Orthodox Convent on Mount of Olives, lives an 82 year-old Estonian nun Mother Ksenya. Even though inside the convent’s cement walls there are no clocks and life still follows the Julius calendar, the 20 years that Mother Ksenya has spent there have rapidly passed by. In the nun hierarchy she has now achieved the second-to-last level. She is heading towards complete silence, the Great Schema. But before that she has been given permission to tell the story of her life for the very last time.

A story that focuses on borders in the contemporary society between existent and non-existent things, where a woman, who is struggling in an endless fight for survival, goes on journey to find herself.
