In its 17th edition, the festival will see an unprecedented scope in its film programmes and special events. The festival will kick off on May 28th, and carry on till June 3rd - a densely packed week of series of screenings, happenings, and parties, offering a unique chance of experiencing things unavailable in Riga (an probably elsewhere) any time before or after. Right now we are crazy busy with film selection process, looking for tiger and bear costumes and rock-climbers, locating 16mm projectors and considering if Andy Warhol and John Lennon are fit for taking part, too. Selection results for International and Baltic competitions will come later this month, but meanwhile please bear with us and do follow the updates on this festival's programme, which will involve exclusive screenings of the world's first interactive film, KINOAUTOMAT, retrospectives of avant-garde film pioneer Jonas Mekas, award-winners of the universe's most prestigious film festivals, and many more.
