QUEER - THE RAINBOW OF DESIRES
CINEMA 'KSUNS' 29.11 / 22.00
Renata Litvinova, Kevin Spacey, Boy George, Jodie Foster, Pedro Almodovar, Edgar Rinkevich - this list could be supplemented by hundreds and thousands of reputable homosexual, bisexual and transgender people who, in today's world, have not only minority but also are discriminated against the outsiders - in most countries they have fewer rights than heterosexuals. The private and public life of LGBT community members is uneasy and sometimes disturbs the minds of many heterosexual people, for example, in Latvia rarely what happens in such emotionally saturated and vivid contrasting shades as the Europride. Do representatives of sexual minorities mirror all other hidden fears, insecurities and sometimes even tendencies? Short film programme QUEER. The Wish Rainbow consists of six stories about various gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and, yes, normal, hunger to express, to love, to create a family, to enjoy and to exist healthy. I think that in a programme devoted to sexual diversity, everyone will recognize a close and human-minded desire for themselves.
