Volkan İncüvez (Turkey) and Reinis Jaunais

Volkan İncüvez is a solo musician from Turkey who has collaborated with many musicians on various different projects and live performances as well as performed at different international festivals. Volkan İncüvez is bringing his Hepyek performance to Riga, using his voice, reed, fretless guitar, electric guitar and çağlama as instruments. Hepyek is a solo, live loop performance, composed of modal and modern music elements as well as improvisation. It mainly expresses the intersection and merging of the traditional and native life with the modern life. In other words, Hepyek nourishes melodies and harmonies on the mainlands, cruises in the heavens without a route and releases it’s sensation deep down to the bottom of the sea.

The opening performance will be by Reinis Jaunais - a local musician and guitar player. Reinis is a true wanderer of the world. He started writing his own solo music when busking on the streets on a hitchhike trip through Europe and Asia. So far he has performed all over Europe, as well as in New Zealand and Cyprus. Reinis has three self-released albums - “Naked Guitar” (Plika ģitāra) (2013), “Friends’ Orchestra” (Draugu orķestris) (2015) and “Light” (Gaišs) (2016).
